we visited the beautiful waitangi grounds [think "declaration of independence signing"]. after a beautiful video and historical explanation, we got to step foot on the hallowed grounds.... the first thing we saw:
a coke machine...

veggie garden

i met an organic gardener who also keeps chickens. i was surprised that chickens produce an egg per day. but that's a side story.
i'm inspired to garden despite fall's fast approach. thankfully cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower can still survive a NZ march planting.... today at the grocery store, i bought a 9 seedling pack of those veg for $3... this weekend i plow my girlfriend's garden.... there's got to be a better way of saying that, but tobias funke would be proud...

25 baby cards walk into a bar...

walking to work, i watched a lady unload mountains of decent stuff into a huge rubbish bin... including a suitcase that could come in very handy in 9 months...
coming home, i snagged the suitcase. to my surprise and delight, 25 "congrats about your new baby" cards were in the suitcase flap.
relaxing after work, i sat down to read them... however, all but one were in russian. the one english card simply read "love diane".
