a friend of mine has begun lockhorns aloud, a droll retelling of each day's lockhorn's comic.

if you can't get enough of their constantly hilarious bickering, you now have one more addictive venue.

explorer :: species introduction

i hope to be remembered

to new zealand.

wanted a "healthy" snack for my cold and the supermarket disagreed with my choice of skinny grains.

in my cold-induced deliria, i not only found the nexus of the universe, but i had good enough sense to photo it.

cricket

i attended 5 hours of cricket [15% of the game's actual length, no joke]

i watched the runs go from 115 to 250, and the outs go from 1 to 6.

this sounds excited, except the "exciting" bits were the 5 outs.

having attended, i think i'm officially a subject of her majesty the queen of new zealand.

veggie garden

i met an organic gardener who also keeps chickens. i was surprised that chickens produce an egg per day. but that's a side story.

i'm inspired to garden despite fall's fast approach. thankfully cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower can still survive a NZ march planting.... today at the grocery store, i bought a 9 seedling pack of those veg for $3... this weekend i plow my girlfriend's garden.... there's got to be a better way of saying that, but tobias funke would be proud...

3.11.2008

appreciation :: the letter k

eating my ham sandwich, i realized how much i like the letter "k". i feel i'm part of the k counterculture. it's a quirky, oft-forgotten letter... but not the obvious odd-ball choice of "z". it's also the 11th letter in the alphabet and how cool is that!

3.10.2008

wellington is a punk-er city than i have lived in.

teasing

i like being teased.
i like teasing people.
as long as you're not hurting people.
even though there is truth in every joke.

in a theoretical debate, i was told such teasing [particularly mean-edging comments] have no place in a dating relationship. i have never met someone like that before. where do you fall?

please don't tease me with half answers, but give me the straight dope.

health food :: attempt [failure]

i really wanted chocolate cake and ice-cream for breakfast.
instead, i got out my yogurt and strawberries.
both had gone off.
after this entry, it'll be cake and ice-cream.
how decadent my life has become is.
